Remember going to your grandmas and seeing that blue Royal Dansk cookie tin out and getting excited only to find out its sewing shit? Bahahahahaha. Me too. So I made the cookies that came with the sewing tin. *cackling bc I think I'm hilarious*.
Anyway, they are Danish butter cookies and they are amazing. Make sure you have a legit piping bag for this though, because the dough is just think enough to make using a disposable one super annoying. Surprisingly though, this recipe is not super involved. Just a few ingredients and no chilling.
As far as your piping options, I used a russian tip I have but I think the most aesthetically pleasing tip is gonna be the Wilton 1M. As long as its a big, open tip you should be good though. This dough would also be really good for a cookie press. If you go the cookie press route and end up with cookies smaller than 2" cut the baking time back.
Ingredients:
1 C unsalted butter (room temperature)
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1egg
2 C all-purpose flour
Granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1 cream butter and sugar together in a decent sized bowl
Add egg and incorporate fully
Add salt and vanilla
Add flour and mix thoroughly but don't over mix. Dough will be thick.
Prepare piping bag or cookie press and add dough to it.
Pipe cookies in 2" circles leaving just a little space between cookies. These don't spread much. I suggest using parchment to make your life easier. (tip, put a dab of butter on the corners of the pan to get the parchment to stick so it doesn't move while you're trying to pipe) If you do not have parchment, lightly grease your cookie sheet. Sprinkle with granulated sugar before they go in the oven for that extra cronch on top.

Bake for 15-17 mins until bottoms are just a little golden brown. These are not dark cookies at all. 15 mins was just right in my oven.
(Yes there's already one missing. I'm fat and they were hot. ffs)

Let cool, or don't and tear them up. NOMS!

These cookies are so good!!! Can't wait to taste them!!!
